HRD Corp recently participated in an International Work Visit to Japan, accompanying the Honourable Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong. The visit aimed to strengthen key areas aligned with HRD Corp’s mission, particularly in human capital development and technical education.
During the trip, HRD Corp engaged with the Human Resource Development Bureau (HRDB), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shuto Iko College of Medical Care & Welfare, and conducted site visits to Tokyo Technical College (Nakano Automotive Campus), Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), and the National Institute of Technology (KOSEN).
A major highlight was the MoU with Shuto Iko, which marks the start of a strategic partnership focused on enhancing Malaysia’s aged care sector. This collaboration will bring Japanese aged care technology into Malaysia and introduce certification courses through HRD Corp’s platform.
The site visits also provided valuable insights into Japan’s advanced technical education systems. Overall, the visit successfully established meaningful partnerships and created new opportunities for collaboration in aged care, human capital development, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) exchange programmes.
