In December 2023, HRD Corp embarked on a significant visit to Cambodia, marking the beginning of a series of exchange programmes with the Skills Development Fund (SDF) in Cambodia. This inaugural visit focused on fostering collaborative ties, offering invaluable insights into Cambodia’s evolving skills development ecosystem. The engagement paved the way for HRD Corp’s prestigious participation in the official launch of SDF Cambodia on 30 January 2024. ​

Held under the theme “Develop your SKILL, Develop your BUSINESS, Develop YOURSELF,” the event highlighted the importance of skill development in both personal and business growth. Presiding over the event were His Excellency Dr Aun Pornmoniroth, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF) of Cambodia, alongside H.E. Dr Phan Phalla, Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) of Cambodia and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SDF, H.E. Heng Sour, the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training Cambodia and Vice Chairman of SDF Board and Ms. Jyotsana Varma, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).​

At the heart of the event was a compelling panel discussion titled “Why Skills Development in this Emerging Digital Age?” which lasted for one hour and five minutes. HRD Corp had the honour of contributing as a panelist, bringing forth valuable insights to enrich the discourse. Additionally, HRD Corp received a token of appreciation for its significant contributions to the development of SDF Cambodia, further strengthening the partnership. The day concluded with a courtesy call at the SDF office, where HRD Corp engaged with Mr. Ky Sokkim, CEO of SDF, reaffirming its commitment to ongoing collaboration and mutual growth.
